Corporate Uniforms in India: A Buyer’s Guide for HR and Admin Teams

Corporate uniforms do two jobs at once. They make staff easy to identify and they carry your brand into every customer interaction. Yet many companies buy them in a rush, with no clear brief. This guide walks HR and admin teams through a better process.

1. Write a clear brief

  • Which roles need uniforms: front desk, sales floor, field staff, support teams?
  • What image should staff project: formal, smart-casual or practical?
  • Working conditions: air-conditioned office, outdoor work or both?
  • Headcount, annual attrition and expected joiners.

2. Choose garments by role

Front-office teams often wear formal shirts, trousers and blazers. Field and operations teams usually do better with polos, t-shirts or durable workwear. One company can, and often should, have more than one uniform set. See our workwear and corporate uniforms range.

3. Specify fabric and finish

Ask for fabric composition, weight and colour-fastness. Poly-cotton blends balance comfort with easy care for most office roles. Staff who work outdoors need breathable, durable fabrics.

4. Plan sizing properly

Poor fit is the most common complaint about corporate uniforms. Run a size-set trial, collect sizes from every employee, and keep a buffer stock for new joiners.

5. Branding

Embroidered logos look premium and last longer. Printing suits t-shirts and event wear. Keep logo placement and colours consistent across all garments.

6. Rollout and replenishment

Agree on delivery by location, individual packing by employee name, and a simple reorder process for new hires. A good supplier should hold repeat fabric so reorders match the first batch.

Frequently asked questions

How many sets should each employee get?

Usually enough to cover a working week without daily washing. Three to five sets is common for daily-wear roles.

Can we start with one location?

Yes. A pilot at one site helps you fix fit and fabric issues before the full rollout.
